This browser cannot record the computer’s sound
Use Chrome or Edge on a Windows computer. Safari (iPad, iPhone, Mac) does not let websites capture other windows’ sound.
Screen recording (iPad)
- Open Control Center and touch and hold Screen Recording. Turn the microphone on if you also want your voice mixed in.
- Start the recording, watch what you want, then stop it. It goes to Photos.
- Tap “Choose the recording” below: only the sound is kept (.m4a, in the Music list). The video is not stored here; delete it from Photos if you no longer need it.
Records only the sound of the computer, in a small file
- Open what you want to record in another tab or window.
- Tap Record. In the window that appears, choose the tab with the sound (keep “Also share tab audio” on) or Entire screen (turn on “Also share system audio”).
- Keep this tab open. Tap Stop, or “Stop sharing”, when you are done.
About 22 MB per hour (Opus, .webm). Nothing is sent anywhere: the file stays on this computer.
Records the microphone (the iPad’s, or the one chosen in the browser).
With a folder, the file is written while it records and appears there when you stop. Without one, it goes to Downloads and to the Music list.
